Lovely room with sea view and sound of the surf, pleasant garden, direct access to pedestrian zone and restaurants. Good breakfast included in room price, helpful staff and pleasant bar area with good service.
The localization is perfect! You cross the street and you have the beach and you can walk to the old part of village and marina where you have a lot of restaurants and nice places to visit. The outside architecture of the building and the entrance with gardens and chairs are also very pleasant, you can read a book "feeling the Riviera". In general, we liked to stay there and would choose it again as a 3 stars hotel.
The rooms are very small (it's hard to have 2 big bags to open and still have room for 2 person :o) and the bed is not very confortable, but is a 3 stars hotel so it's acceptable. The breakfast is poor and the waiters are not gentle, but you can have it outside so it becames better!
The receptionist very polite and helpful with some directions we needed the location is very good next to the beach. Is good for the price is very near by car to Monte Carlo
Breakfast is poor and too much noise from the back side of the hotel were was our room all day until mid night
In front to the sea - Staff kindness/support
Rooms bit old fashioned - bathroom old fashioned
Sea front location, handy for bus and rail connections, good local restaurants. Very comfortable. An excellent varied programme of entertainment was available Monday to Friday.
All of the restaurant staff except the Maitre d were very helpful and cheerful. If you take bed and beakfast and then opt to eat dinner at the hotel on a few occasions, guests have to be aware that when the hotel is busy - for our stay, the last 2 evenings - then you cannot book to eat there. This was not explained to us, and the Maitre d of the restaurant was really quite aggressive in telling us to go elsewhere. While there are many good restaurants close by, we felt that his attitude was not acceptable, and that the fact that we may not be able to eat dinner there should have been pointed out when we arrived. Apparently, many French guests take full board!
We really enjoyed the beach across the street. We also had our room with a view on the sea. The road between the hotel and the beach is not noisy. Of course the rooms on the other side of the hotel do not enjoy the view on the sea, but on a street, although the rooms in the higher floor should allow a view on the mountains. I guess the rooms on the street should be slightly noisier. But all in all it's a very comfortable, (and clean) hotel, the staff is very kind and helpful, and the breakfast is decent (though you should not expect a full English breakfast - but something better than a Continental one). Many customers are pensioners or families - which gives an impression of quiteness and peacefulness - not bad when you come to relax. As for the rates, it's very good value for money.
Should have a kettle and some cutlery in the room - always useful when you want to enjoy (nice) local specialities you might have picked as you wander in the city.
Excellent location, nice gardens and outdoor area. Food was fine and restaurant staff helpful.
Lift inadequate for size of hotel. No English speaking channels on TV. The only important downside to our hotel stay was the indifferent attitude of the female reception staff, who in our opinion are poorly trained.
View from window. Location
First impression on entering the Hotel was very nice, however it was very short-lived when entering our room which was disappointing to say the least. The bed was in pieces, literally & staked against the wall . Also no furniture, no tv. We were moved to a marginally better room & the staff were apologetic. Although the hotel was good value I don't think I would stay there again.
Very comfortable rooms, lovely sea view - could lie in bed and listen to the waves on the beach. There seemed to be entertainment most evenings for those that wanted it.We enjoyed being able to sit in the gardens for breakfast and then have a gentle stroll into the livelier parts of town. As Menton is so close to Italy, Italian seems to be the main second language but I enjoyed practising my school girl French. The Receptionist spoke good English so no problems there.
The clientelle when we were there was fairly elderly which was probably the reason that the bar closed at 10.15 on the Saturday night. Had we known this we would have stayed out in the busier part of town rather later but not really a problem.
Excellent location near the beach and city center. Very good comfort and very pleasant staff.
Unfortunately, internet connection sometimes (every 5-10 minutes) could not access some internet sites, especially most Russian sites and some U.S. sites. Seems like some problems with their internet provider.
The location was great and the facade facing the sea was reminicent of past times and we liked that
We thought that there was not enough service staff - we waited a long time to get a drink on the terrace in the garden - some of the seating was not clean. The next day we sat on the terrace but left as we had waited a long time for service. The breakfast was not displayed nicely - and the bread etc. basket was not filled up once while we took breakfast.
Very good fresh food. Good bar service. Dining room staff very helpful. Evening meal excellent, in fact, best meal in Menton.
No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Location perfect. Relaxed atmosphere.Lovely garden to unwind in. staff friendly +most helpful especially the lovely Dominique and the waiter in the bar who looked after the elderly Irish couple who were always late for breakfast..For a 3 star hotel and at the price you would be very hard to please to complain.
NO. Step down into Room 613 needed care. Otherwise more than value for money.
Location- out the back door and you're in town; front faces the sea. Very nice included breakfast. The view from our 5th floor room over the city was nice...the view from rooms lower down would not be as nice. We also had the larger room which had a large bathroom too.
The hotel is in a very pleasant location and provides the basis for a very enjoyable holiday. It is close to the beach and attractive old area of Menton whilst not lying too far away from the railway station and bus station.
